Policy
Review Policy
This policy describes exactly how reviews reach this site and what we do, and do not do, before publishing them.

1. Scope
This policy applies to every customer review published on Heavy Equipment Review Hub. It describes the processes the site actually operates today. Where a process is not yet in place, this policy says so rather than describing a safeguard we do not have.
2. How reviews are submitted
Reviews are submitted to the editorial team through the channel shown on the contact page. There is no self-service review form and no automated import from other websites or platforms. If the contact page shows that no channel has been configured yet, reviews cannot currently be received, and none will be published until one is.
A submission should include:
- the dealer the review is about;
- the display name the reviewer wants shown;
- a title and the review text in the reviewer's own words;
- a whole-number star rating from 1 to 5;
- the date of the experience being described.
3. Who may submit a review
Reviews must describe the reviewer's own first-hand experience as a prospective or actual customer of the dealer. We do not publish reviews from the dealer, its owners, employees, contractors or competitors, or reviews written on someone else's behalf. Reviewers may not be compensated by anyone for submitting a review.
4. Moderation before publication
Every submission is read by an editor before it is published. The editor checks that the review:
- describes a specific experience with the named dealer;
- contains no hate speech, threats, obscenity, or personal information about third parties such as phone numbers or home addresses;
- contains no advertising, links to other businesses, or content unrelated to the dealer;
- is not a duplicate of a review already published for the same experience;
- includes a rating between 1 and 5 and a plausible date.
Editors do not change the substance of a review. Minor edits for spelling or to remove prohibited personal information may be made, and the reviewer is told when this happens. Reviews are not rejected for being negative, and a dealer cannot prevent a review that meets this policy from being published.
5. Verification: what we do and do not do
At present, Heavy Equipment Review Hub does not operate a system that confirms a reviewer completed a purchase. For that reason the site does not display “verified purchase” or similar badges on any review. Reviewers may voluntarily send supporting documents, such as an invoice or bill of sale, to help an editor assess a submission. Those documents are used only for moderation, are never published, and are deleted once the review decision is made.
If we introduce a verification process in future, this policy will be updated first to describe it, and any badge will be shown only on reviews that have actually passed that process.
6. What is published
A published review shows the reviewer's chosen display name, the review title, the review text, the star rating and the original review date supplied by the reviewer. Reviews are stored in a structured dataset maintained by the editors and are shown newest first. The profile's average rating, total count and star distribution are calculated automatically from that dataset. Nothing is weighted, rounded in the dealer's favour, or adjusted by hand.
We do not backdate reviews, publish reviews under names other than the one supplied, or create sample or placeholder reviews. A profile with no published reviews shows an empty state.
7. Corrections and removal
A published review may be edited or removed when:
- the reviewer asks us to correct or withdraw their own review;
- we receive credible evidence that the review breaches section 3 or 4 of this policy;
- we are required to do so by law.
Dealers may contact us to dispute a review. We will consider the information provided and may ask the reviewer for a response. We do not remove a review because a dealer disagrees with the reviewer's opinion, and we do not accept payment or other consideration in exchange for editing, hiding or removing reviews.
8. Dealer responses
The site does not currently publish dealer responses to reviews. If a dealer provides a factual clarification that is relevant to readers, an editor may add a short, clearly labelled note to the dealer overview. Any such note will be attributed to the dealer.
9. Ratings in search engines
Review and rating information is included in the page's structured data only when genuine published reviews exist for that dealer. We never publish aggregate-rating markup for a profile with no reviews or with a different rating from the one shown on the page.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our processes change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes to how reviews are collected or verified will be described here before they take effect.
